A Super Bowl hangover and the NFL lockout weren't about to slow down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The New Orleans Saints just couldn't keep up. Rodgers came out on top in a memorable opening-night duel with Drew Brees, and the Packers made a goal-line stand on the final play of the game to beat the Saints 42-34 on Thursday night.

ESPN keeps Monday Night Football to 2021 (AP)

ESPN is betting that, yes, fans are ready for some football. More football in more places. The network agreed with the league on an eight-year contract extension that keeps "Monday Night Football" on ESPN through the 2021 season, boosts the amount of programming shown on the already football-saturated family of networks, and brings it to phones and tablets.
